Merry Christmas from Baylor billboard

Early last week, as the Baylor campus was planning for Christmas on 5th Street, the weather was fantastic — sunny and mid 70s. But by the event Thursday night, it really was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, as temperatures had already dropped into the 30s across Central Texas.

Students’ t-shirts and shorts were quickly replaced by warmer apparel such as hats and scarves, and the night’s schedule was adjusted in advance of freezing precipitation expected later in the evening, with the concluding concert from Mat Kearney moved into Waco Hall.

But some things — the live nativity in the heart of campus, the lights on Old Main, and of course, the giant Christmas tree in the SUB (and the even bigger one in Burleson Quad) — remained constant. A Baylor Christmas means instant memories being made.

For those who couldn’t make it — alumni living too far from Waco, or future students just waiting to attend — the official Baylor Facebook page shared this photo gallery of the campus decorated for the holidays and all the Christmas on 5th Street events, showing off the green(ery) and gold (trim) of the season.

Sic ’em, Baylor Christmas!
